Ultrasound Scans
This test uses high frequency sound waves to create an image of the body’s tissues and organs. Suitable for abdomen, pelvis, soft tissue, swellings, and some joints.
CT Scans
This test uses x-ray energy in thin slices to create an image of the body’s tissues and organs. Suitable for hard tissue (bone, joints) as well as tumors, masses and cancer.
MRIs
This test uses magnetic energy in thin slices to create an image of the body’s tissues and organs. Suitable for musculoskeletal soft tissue (ligaments, tendons, discs, cartilage) as well as hard tissue, tumours, masses and cancer.
PET Scans
This test uses a small amount of tracer and x-ray energy to create a functional picture of the body’s tissues and organs. While conventional x-rays, CTs and MRI show structure, PET scans show function. It is used to tell if an organ is working as it should and is the gold standard for early cancer detection
